Dear Bamboo Friends and Bamboo Enthusiasts,
Greetings from South Asia Bamboo Foundation (SABF)
I am happy to inform you that the WORLD BAMBOO DAY is being celebrated all over the world on 18th of September 2011. This is an initiative undertaken by the World Bamboo Organization (WBO) during the 8th World Bamboo Congress held in Bangkok in 2009. Subsequently the following World Bamboo Day celebration was held in Kohima, Nagaland, India in the year 2010 which was graced by the Hon’ble Vice President of India Dr. Hamid Ansari which was supported by the National Bamboo Mission of India and Govt. of Nagaland.
To promote and develop bamboo in the country I sincerely request all of you to kindly celebrate the World Bamboo Day this year in the most befitting manner and also give wide publicity to popularize bamboo both in the country and internationally. You may plan to organize talk shows, painting competition, debate, bamboo plantations, run for bamboo, cultural programmes and many other ways to celebrate this day. Please kindly share your views and spread the message of the world bamboo day.
You may kindly log into the following websites to know more and spread the World Bamboo D
